Jonah Ali Hodari is a photographer from Richmond, Virginia who explores internal and social contrasts within our culture. In his series of double exposed Polaroids ‘Rich Interiors’, Jonah Ali Hodari depicts the juxtaposition between the external presentation and inner emotionality experienced by Black men. With the Black Male body often being treated as an isolated entity from the soul it bares, the disassociation of the two is inevitable when a Black man navigates social society. This photo series explores that dynamic and creates visuals for an often overlooked and unaddressed experience.
